COE Tech Sandbox introduces virtual reality machine

December 1, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments

The newest addition to the COE Tech Sandbox is a virtual reality machine. The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset that transports its users to a new world where they can explore in a contextual environment.

Our Tech Sandbox is offering a new workshop on how to use Oculus Rift. Participants will experience full immersion of several different environments through Sightline, the virtual reality application of the Oculus Rift, which can be applied to multiple disciplines in education.

Dr. Ian Whitacre and Dr. George Boggs were some of the first participants in the Oculus Rift workshop. They experienced full immersion of several different environments through Sightline, the virtual reality application of the Oculus Rift, which can be applied to multiple disciplines in education.10517602_10152820478929477_7791499747881726177_o

Sandbox staff are also happy to facilitate general tours, workshop, and training sessions for College of Education faculty, staff, and students. They can also organize on-demand sessions to enhance COE student learning experiences. To request a tour or a workshop, please complete this form.

Connect with the COE Tech Sandbox on Facebook for updates on new technology and educational research.
