Nine undergraduate and nine graduate students in the Sport Management program will attend the National Championship football game in Dallas this Monday. In addition to touring TCU, the students will work the pre-game show, half time show, and trophy presentation at the event.

“This is an opportunity for our students to gain valuable, hands-on experience at a major sporting event,” said Dr. Jason Pappas, assistant instructor and director of undergraduate practicum in the Department of Sport Management. “The students have been able to communicate and make connections with professionals in the sporting industry, including event coordinators at AT&T Stadium and the administrative staff at Texas Christian University. These experiences will allow our students to follow their passion of finding a job within the sporting industry.”

This will be the first College Football Playoff National Championship and an educational experience in which these students are fortunate to participate. “By being a part of the first College Football Playoff National Championship game, they have the chance to see what it takes to make an event of this magnitude happen,” said Dr. Pappas.
