Vanessa Dennen appointed editor-in-chief of esteemed education journal

The Internet and Higher Education

Dr. Vanessa P. Dennen, associate professor of Instructional Systems & Learning Technologies, has been appointed editor-in-chief of The Internet and Higher Education, a quarterly journal published by Elsevier. Dennen previously served as associate editor for the journal.

The Internet and Higher Education is devoted to addressing contemporary issues and future developments related to online learning, teaching, and administration on the Internet in post-secondary settings. As an international and interdisciplinary journal, it invites contributions from across the globe and from various academic disciplines. The Social Sciences Citation Index ranks The Internet and Higher Education in the top 20 in its subject category, Education and Educational Research.

As a researcher, Dr. Dennen studies online discourse and communities of practice. As a practitioner, she has worked as an instructional designer and evaluator in corporate, government and higher education settings.
