Czech Republic visitors

On March 5, 2015, a group of 11 educators from the Czech Republic paid a visit to the FSU College of Education. Visitors in the group have been working with our faculty and administration at a “sister school” in the Czech Republic, Střední škola, Základní škola a Mateřská škola. They have been alternating visits for the last four years.

The group consisted of teachers, administrators, and a nurse, as well as a translator. Their visit included a presentation from Dr. Kelly Whalon, assistant professor of Special Education, and a hands-on demonstration in the COE Tech Sandbox. A graduate student representative of the Tech Sandbox presented the technology used to train teachers to better assist students with disabilities, as well as the devices/programs that are currently being used to help children with disabilities learn.
