Bayesian Networks in Educational Assessment

Dr. Russell Almond, associate professor of Measurement & Statistics, recently published a book with Springer Publications. Bayesian Networks in Educational Assessment is co-authored by Russell Almond; Robert Mislevy, Linda Steinberg, Duanli Yan, and David M. Williamson.

Bayesian Networks in Educational Assessment explores how bayesian inference networks, a synthesis of statistics and expert systems, can be applied in the design and analysis of innovative educational assessments. The book is a resource for professionals interested in assessment and advanced students, which includes examples, demonstrations, and illustrations of how to use Bayes nets in educational assessment.

In April, the authors will be giving a tutorial based on this book at the 2015 National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. For more information on the book, click here.
