TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State University College of Education proudly announces the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award winners.

Established more than 25 years ago, the College of Education Distinguished Alumni Awards provide an avenue of honoring graduates of the college who have distinguished themselves through scholarly, creative and humanitarian achievement, and service to their profession.

Each year, recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by an esteemed committee of College of Education emeritus faculty.

This year’s award winners are:

Government and Community Service
Bárbara María Moro, director of student affairs for North Florida campuses, Southern Scholarship Foundation

Government and Community Service
Salih Binici, director of psychometric services, Florida Department of Education

Paul Parker, international education consultant, independent contractor

K-12 Education
William Jablon, former headmaster, Maclay School

Postsecondary (University)
Nancy Fichtman Dana, professor of education, University of Florida

Distinguished Educator
John Penick, former professor and department head, North Carolina State University

The College of Education dean and administrative leadership members, department chairs, faculty, family and friends will honor these six individuals at an awards ceremony and dinner held Friday, Oct. 30, during College of Education Week.
